Two words: musique concrete.
I feel that if music has lost meaning for you, its time to chase new genres and sounds. Far too much brilliant music out there to be complaining about lack of innovation - exposure is the tough part. For beautiful electronica I was enjoying a lot of the european/dreamy electronic stuff a year or two ago, Owsey, Essay/ warminal label, delicieus musique etc.
