Default Virus TI Pitch envelope?

Hi,

I often use NI FM8 for creating sounds with the pitch envelope:

(in this example the sound first pitches down and then goes up in pitch again)

How can i do this with my Virus TI?
thanx!

Either use LFO1 or LFO2 in ENV mode, or use the Filter envelope. Osc1 Pitch and Osc2 Pitch are pre-wired destinations for LFO1, and Osc2 Pitch is a pre-wired destination for the filter envelope (see the oscillator menu).

ok. thanx! can you please post a screenshot? i just bought the TI
is it possible to connect an envelope to the osc1 and osc2 pitch together?

btw. i just read this:
The Virus doesnt have a dedicated pitch envelope.
You have to use either the amp or filter envelope or one of the lfos in envelope mode and assign that in the matrix to control the pitch of the oscillators.

how can i use the filter envelope to control the pitch of the sound?
i just bought the TI so i am not an expert (yet) in the matrix...

I'm at work atm and don't have the TI in front of me, so can't post a screenshot
is it possible to connect an envelope to the osc1 and osc2 pitch together?
Sure. If you're just getting acquainted with the TI, I suggest you start with the init patch (RAM C127 if I remember correctly):
- go to the mod matrix
- select "Filter Envelope" as the source
- select "Osc1 Pitch" as the destination, dial in the desired amount
(you might want to turn "Osc Balance" knob fully counter-clockwise, to hear Osc1 only). You should hear the effect of filter envelope on Osc1 pitch.
- now turn "Osc Balance" fully clockwise, to hear Osc2 only;
- move down one line in the mod matrix, select "Osc2 Pitch" as the destination, dial in the desired amount. You probably want the same modulation amount as for Osc1, although you don't have to.
- put Osc Balance at the middle position, to hear both oscillators modulated by the filter envelope.

hope my explanation is not too confusing
good luck!
