Hey dude, still eating. I do have msn and will send it through PM.
But try this, I had another listen and it sounds like not one layer. It' s a deep bass kick and snare on top. Try picking a Kick patch and a Snare patch and trigger it on the the same note and quantize.
Give that a go and I'll check to see how your going.
P.S.- Try a snappy Snare, not so much of a rock or jazz, but snappy
Good Luck

Set both samples to be triggerable by the same key. The method for doing this varies depending on your setup.

What are you using to make drums?

Use the Virus for what it is there for. Create 16 Midi channels in your sequencer and then in Multi mode, select Part 1 to Midi 1, Part 2 to Midi 2, ......... and so on....
Once you have done this, you can scroll your parts on their designated midi channels by pressing <-PART-> buttons.
Select a drum on Part 1 and Snare on Part 2. Create an event on your project which will trigger the note(s) at exactly the same time. Both sounds will come out of L&R outputs. That's basically it.
P.S.-You need to push the "Single" and "Multi" buttons at the same time to enter *Multi Mode*
