I have a Polar and got a Snow too! Snow for my house and traveling, and the Polar for my studio.

It might just be mental, but I feel like I make cooler, more focused patches on the Snow. When I am working on the Polar, I jump all over the place with the knobs, because I can, but there is more intent with the Snow when I make a parameter adjustment or patch something.

It seems that for me it is the other way around....because the Snow works with alot of sub-menus i feel i sometimes miss out of some tweak here or there that would give the right sound to my patch.

With the Desktop i have a full overview of all my possibilities and know exactly what i can tweak to get there.

But still...my way of working or your way doesn't make any difference in the end...

That's the problem i have right now, the speed to get to a filter/effect or anything is delayed due to the menu diving. Grant it I don't play out live but still.

I thought about it more, and it comes down to I am not willing to spend the $$ on a desktop and I want the virus sound so this is what I will have to deal with

As many times as I get frustrated with this thing, you just hear the sound and it makes it all go away

I actually like being limited by the snow's DSP. I tend toward too much in my electronic tracks. I keep adding and adding parts until my collage sounds more like chaos. With only 4 possible snow instances I keep my virus use pinpointed. I wouldn't trade for the desktop because I'd be tempted to throw too much in.

I like it for what it is. Although I wish they would have got rid of the damn volume knob that i never use and turned it into a forth softknob. Only time it ever gets touched is if i'm using it as an audio interface. It would have made way more sense and still wouldn't compete with the bigger bros.
