Default transfer virus c patches to virus ti?

Hello all,

Does anyone know if it is possible to transfer and use my virus C patches with my newly acquired Virus TI? If so how could I go about doing this? Also, how can i preserve the patches i have created with the virus TI with OS 1.3 to OS 2.0?

Cheers
N

Hi there,

Do you have SoundDiver for the Virus C? If so, highlight the patches (either en-masse or singley) and save them to MID format.

Otherwise, on your Virus C press the CTRL button, and then scroll through the menus until you see the MIDI DUMP TX option. Use the cursor arrows to select to dump all the banks (multibank) or BankA or BankB or whatever, then press STORE to initiate the dump to your sequencer (Cubase) or similar. Then save it out as a MID file.

Then place the MID file(s) into the Patches folder (MyDocuments/AccessMusic/VirusTI/Patches).

That's it. You may have to re-load Virus Control to see the new patches.

Hopefully someone else may be able to help with your other query.

Welcome to the forum!

I tried what you suggested, but I am using a mac and there is no patches folder that I can see. Where is this located on the mac?

Most sequencers are able to to record sysex and save it into a MIDI File. I never had a Virus A/B/C but I guess the Indigo can send bank dumps like most synth do...
