what shall be the use? the parts do have distinct midi channels (in opposite to the multi mode)
The use would be to set up multi patches for live purposes. For example, I have a TI keyboard and I often need 2-4 patches set up in different ranges on my keyboard--a bass, arp and lead for example all in one multi but placed in different key ranges across the synth. It's not just about having these parts on different midi channels--in fact just the opposite is true. I need them all on the same midi channel from the TI keyboard itself.

I agree. Would be nice to be able to do splits and layers from within VC.
