Busy weekend for me.

Since I can work interrupted for 2.5 days I'm modifying my DAW desk by adding a second shelf.

Will post pics of the process for the sake of perpetuating this piss up thread.

Anyone else got worthy plans to discuss?

If you know of any good liver vitamins please let me know as I'm going to be toxifying myself for the next 48 hours.

DUDE! That is Hilarious stuff! I especially love the clip where the guy falls face first into the wall while handcuffed during his booking at the local police station. Muuhhahahaaaa!!!

That's why I drink vodka, and not beer.



Just cleared out my den/studio. I had to fold, wash, dry fold (again) bloody-hell 3 loads of laundry to open up the damn space.

Now my DAW desk is cleared off and I can post the "Virgin picture" before it is modified to my redneck carpentry standards:

I hope you are doing it in a marketing consultant style: A landscape with the DAW workspace in the center and around it there are flying cars, a futuristic glass metropol, a couple on a lovely picnic, children playing in the park and a rape going on in the bushes.

Hey Juho,

Of course there will be a rape going on in the bushes of my conceptual drawing, a large tomcat will be in the midst of raping a stray tabby. I would never forget such an important detail, thank you very much.

The precursors all bunched together...


I taped off a little spray paint are with some left over packing material:


The "legs" of my shelf are now spray painted a "hammered" metallic silver:


Now it's time to go the lunber store and get two more pieces of wood cut. The top shelf is actually a scrap of red oak, 60 inches long, and 11.25 inches wide. It has a little split on the end and thus only cost me $2.00! But, the lumber store put a thin band of pink spraypaint on the edge of the board to mark it as a "$2.00 scrap." So, I'm taking it back to get 1/2 inch cut off that end so I don't see any pink left over paint in the finish when it's already been sanded, stained, and lacquered. That would really piss me off.

The other cut is to create the 19.125 inch shelves that will be the base supports of my rack gear. If I were to buy rackrail it would double the cost and time of this project, neither of which I can afford at the moment. So, the 19.125 inch baseboards/shelves will keep the rack gear up and I'll use some little teeny tiny screws where the rack screws usually go to keep the racks gear fixed in position and to make sure they don't come forward...

Am leaving now, will be back later with additional details. No cocktails until 5:00 PM.

I'm a rather pissed at the moment. Today I held a quiz for student teams about piracy in the Suomenlinna at the tomb of Karl III. Eight questions and only two teams got through with more than 0 points. It's good to be evil. Let's try, and to googling!:

The base shelves for the rack gear are done. They are only sprayed on the bottom and the "display edges" but are not painted where the rack gear will be housed:
