I do find it hard to get even slightly enthusiastic about the SH-201.
F5D - thats was my thought - very "kiddi-ish", or worse - a teaching aid.
Its apparently also got the integration features that the TI has - I wonder if it comes with the same issues as well?
While I have never heard this thing, my basis for comparison is my v-synth with all its useful features switch off and just using the osc in VA mode with really minimal functionality. The saving grace is osc sync and supersaw - just
I could be wrong, but I do expect this is basically a *very* cut down version of the V-Synths VA - their other new board seems to be a V-Synth hatchet job as well.
I really have to wonder if this is a viable synth once you get past its looks, integration and play on the the "SH-101" name which Roland are really making a habit of these days (juno line for eg).
Dual osc, not even a sub osc or noise source, very basic mods etc and very limited fx (ie all the things that make the V-Synth viable as a VA synth before you consider its sample manglinfg capabilities). (Unless theres alot of params hidden in it plugin.)
