I wouldn't use an LFO as modulator, therefore, you are absolutely right, it would be pointless to modulate the high and low EQ since therefore, you better use filters which provide a much better result.

But what I want to do sometimes is to accent the "body" of the sound and lower the upper freq. bands and that configuation is not fixed like a normal mixing EQ but dynamic to the pitch. The selected accentuated freq. band is relatively fixed to the pitch - you give the sound a new coloration...

Hope I could formulate my intentions...

Now, there's only one EQ available therefore, three would be better...
