no, an addition to my g4 powerbook 800
my housemate bought one too so we have 2 in the studio, along with my powerbook - arrangement on one, mixer/fx on the other - loving it.
great for my PS and flash work too - workspace on one screen, pallettes and tools on the other.
not the greatest LCD, but for $416 i cant complain (philips 170s - 3 year warranty)

I have Philips ones too.....I know they are cheapies, but for Audio they are sweet! Maybe not the best for the graphics stuff you do..
Mine are only 15"
Well, even 17" flat screen is a big upgrade from the Powerbook monitor, and especially 2 of em!!!!

mmm not on quality. my powerbook is 15.2inch widescreen - and i dont know of a company that can produce a better LCD (have you seen the new 30 inch studio displays omfg....)
but 2 matching 17's for the studio is fantastic - im def not complaining!
