I checked the admin and there were not any option to change the logo (at least I didn't found one). Probably Sunesha knows better the logo issue.

thanks for trying juho
pretty sure this style of forum is php - trust me i doubt there is an 'option'
as such to change the header - its positioning and size will have to be defined within the code.
im sure sunesha will check in soon enough
thanks

I'd never have guessed that this page (index.php) is a PHP page. Hoho.

This is some sort of "package" forum. This is ready code so that anyone can configure the board without needing PHP. There's a configuration page for admins to adjust the forum to suit the needs. I don't have access to the server so I can't do nothing to the files. I'll have to stick with the editor page.

yeah this style of forum is a very popular opensource php package.

it is popular for this very reason

im nearly positive that it would be possible to include a flash file - the location of the file on the server would need to be referenced within the page code. im sure sunesha will have it down...

the reasons people usually shy away from including flash include:

1. download time: flash files can get quite large and if so can take quite some time to display. this is not suitable in the case of a forum where the logo is reloaded on every page. however, the logo animation i have in mind would not be over 8kb - i doubt the current logo would be any smaller than 4kb.

2. Compatibility: if needed i can make the animation backwards compatible for all versions of the flashplayer, making it viewable by all users of the page.

just some food for thought

One reason why I shun Flash on web pages that people just don't use Flash right. Flash was designed to create _light_ vector graphic pages, but instead people use 168 megas of audio and 392 megas of pictures making the whole thing load and run slowly on even average machine. Of course flash games and animations are different issue.

But in your case that flash seems ok. Small Flash applets are ok.

i agree.
no point having a 2mb preload on your webpage if all your users are on dialup - no one is even going to bother to wait around and see what your page is about

i have some nice concepts in mind - im looking forward to sunesha getting back to me on this....
