Default Non-alky summer drinks

Anyone got any favourite drink recipes using fresh fruit and ice-cream maybe. I've got one of those hand-held blenders to shake it all up.

Not for me, for the kids.

Honestly.

here's what I drink in the am -

1/4 piece of fresh cantalope
1/4 piece of fresh honeydew
a large slice of fresh pineapple
1 granny smith apple
1 small piece of ginger

juice it up and you have one of the best (and healthiest) fruit drinks around.

This is what I've been doing:

couple cubes of ice, not too many
blueberries
blackberries
pinaple slices
strawberries
orange juice or milk or both

blend it up and add honey during blend cycle

I'm trying out the two drinks above as they actually sound quite good.

By no choice of my own I am giving up alcohol AND sun exposure as I have just experienced my first flare up of rosacea. My mom and Dad both have it, my Mom her whole life, my Dad didn't get it until he was 50, so I'm right in the middle at 34. If I don't I'll be risking the W.C. Fields look. At least laser treatments are only $140.

FUCK!

Cool frozen milk shake

- just peel and slice some fruits (like banana, mango, pears, strawberries, whatever ...)

- then put them on a tray / plate and into deep-freeze for some hours (at least)
(later you can put them into bowls/boxes - on the tray they'll not stick together)

- then take a blender ... add some milk (about little over the half of the volume)

- pour in some honey (per taste) ... or sugar, if you prefer that.
(if you add it after the fruits ... it won't mix that well)

- then add frozen fruits - the amount will adjust the consistency
(don't throw in too many ... should still be a bit liquid)

OVM: not sure if it will work out with a hand-blender, maybe only if you cut the pieces very small ...

OVM, if you are going to 80 proof this effort, keep it simple.

1 Large Watermelon
+
1 Hole in top of Watermelon
+
1 Bottle Bacardi 80 Proof Rum
+
Put it in the Refrigerator for 1 Day
+
1 Knife for Slicing
=
Pool Side Fun

Nice recipes lads, thanks.

Yes, the OVM's body is (a rather too large) temple and it's time to cut down the congregation.

Think I'll get me a decent blender today.

And a swimming pool in order to enjoy Alex's recipe.

Steven, I am no longer a Pom. I am a citizen of the world. Unlike you who shall always be an uncouth ozzy grizzler. Thank you.

Lorenzo. Thanks for that. Actually, this was inspired by getting some fruit into the kids. Erm.. Wait. That sounds, err.. But, yes, it's the beer consumption that has to be curbed. Not adverse to a bit of real booze, but the gassy fizzy beer stuff has to go. Yikes!
