Default Akai MPC500

I've been intrested for an MPC for quite some time now but I haven't really gotten a chance to play around with one before and Akai is brining up all these new models all the time.

MPC2500 and the latest MPC500 http://www.akaipro.com/prodMPC500.php - I mean, MPC 500?. Shouldn't they concentrate on getting rid of the bugs from the MPC1000? (Or I've heard that those still suffer from odd bugs but it get's better with JJ's OS in it).

Anyways, is it worth maybe buy that MPC500 or should I go with the MPC1000?

I love the fact that MPC500 can use batteries but I don't like the small screen. I betcha they loose loads of functions, but I've heard rumours that it will go for around 7500:- SEK (which isn't that much compared to MPC 1000 that goes for 11.000:- SEK).

Err.. I am so tired right now, i better get some sleep.

i don't know guy, i've been all about my pad kontrol. im not very fond of the pads on th mpc series. and the manipulation of samples on it either. i like the way pad kontrol is set up and the fact that it links up with whatever software i choose

Sebastian,

I just started using an M-Audio Trigger Finger a month ago.

I'm no ace on it but it sure is a hell of a lot of fun, and like DJencode said above, it links up to any software you like.

Plus, they only cost $200 instead of 7,500 SEK.

(pardon my laziness for not converting)

$200 = about 1,500:- SEK. M-Audio Trigger is abit more expensive in Sweden though - It cost about 2,500:- SEK.

Anyways, The reason why I want an MPC rather than a midicontroller is that I really don't wanna use the computer as much as I am using it now and it would be awesome to use it while cruising around in Stockholm but still, the small screen is abit scary, I mean I don't think any/whatsoever editing of the samples can be done on that box.

Argh!

think about it this way, you can use a trigger finger or pad kontrol to trigger synths too, well at least the pad kontrol can, it has a place for a/c, and midi i/o. so you can either use it to trigger software and as a midi interface, or you can use a/c and have midi out to a synth or drum machine and trigger it using the pad kontrol. also pad kontrol has flam and drum roll, xy pad, and it feels very nice too

and flashing lights.
