I start back at university on the 26th Sept. The past 4 weeks or so have been hectic...Ive been frantically getting rdy and getting my finances sorted.

The last time I took a synth down to uni (Juno60) it got used as a musical cocktail bar lmao. They aint touching my Virus hehe

I was reading on cnn that scientists have found a black hole in outer space transmitting a noise towards earth. Apparently its 57 octaves below middle c........thats a fucking low! Hmmm I wonder whether any of u guys could make an in-audiably low pitch with ur Virus'.

But the internal caps may start to filter out the frequencies below 20Hz.

At least my mixer didn't react to the ultra low sine at all. Just faint "snap" and that's it.

If you want a low sound from your Virus:
1. Tear off the case
2. Find the DA-converter
3. Build your own 24-bit DA-converter with an opamp and 25 resistors with binary wighted values (1st. 1ohm, 2nd 2ohm, 3rd 4ohm... 24th 8388608ohm) Find the closest E-standard resistor values and use 10Mohm resistor on the feedback.
4. Solder your DA-converter on Virus' digital output.
5. Feed an amplifier with the output and get ready for rumble, which no speaker can produce. So in other words the DA-converter you just built is useless.

If anything the caps will smooth out those low frquency's, since the higher blips jitters and interferences have to take time to cross a capacitor.

There's usually cap/resistor HP filter, which starts to slowly cut 20Hz and lower frequencies so in 1Hz there's so much damping that the signal is inaudible. This is because of error situations where there might be a constant DC output voltage which can harm other devices.

Nope. Zener only restricts the output level. It doesn't give any protect from undesired DC situations.

I've had a KB for quite some time. It is the master keyboard in my setup, and the keys are still very solid after daily use over the years. The knobs have always seemed pretty fragile to me, so I've always been careful with them, and have had no problems. Everything is exactly as it was when I first opened the box a few years back - but mainly because I baby this thing, and it does not move from it's spot on the studio desk.
