I bought two JP's because I wanted to play live and didn't have enough parts... I got the JP, and about two weeks later Roland released the JP8080 - fuckers.

(and it wasn't just a matter of saying ooh, I'll have that one too - I worked 10 hour days in a stinking factory for 13 weeks to save up for it... :S )

I kind of wish I'd listened to my friend and bought a Virus B instead, as I hardly use the 8080 anymore - but can't bring myself to sell it...

Tis an SH-2 my friend! Kinda like the SH-101 but a little bit rarer (ie expensive!)

2 oscillators, some nice fat sounds!

Here here! I would have to agree...although I hear some good things about the SH-5 and SH-7

I think my mono synth days are over. Next on the list is a Juno-60, perhaps a DX7 or D50. and then my life will be complete!
Oh wait, maybe an Oberheim Matrix 1000

Oh actually, I wouldnt mind an SCI pro One

And come to think of it, a decent analogue Drum machine is a must

Jase......

Ive owned a Juno 60, Pro-One and DX7.....and I can honestly say they are great choices. If you get a P1...sell your other mono's...they wont be needed. DX7 and Juno are a powerful combo....

The SynthWizard has some advice - Back in the 1980's music was better, TV was better, films were better. Not to mention fashion.... Let me help you relive the past with some classic 80's sounds from my vintage synth collection....

it's like with the SH2 and the SH1, the SH1 is the small brother of the SH2 and the SH5 is the small ones of the SH7. The SH7 is the flagship of the old SH series ... it is the most "modular" one and sounds amazing (but has only two VCOs like the SH2)

yeah ... i appreciate, analog drummies are a must ! When i got my 909 i set up for two days (and nights, of course) ... just programming patterns all the time, until the memory limit had been reached

it's so great for live use ... tuning and modulating the instruments, and if you use an external sequencer to control it you can play very tricky songs (witch could never be done with the internal sequencer)
