Default Real or fake Christmas tree?

I'm going fake this year. Finally. Wanted to do it for ages. Reminds me of when I was a kid.

Pressies for my kids:

Already done.

Son (8 yr old) gets Mekkano car/crane/helicopter thing. Can't wait to play with that.

Daughter (10) gets English version of Monopoly, just ordered from Amazon (?19 incl. post). Haha! She's gonna be sorry I'm her dad.

Fake trees are excellent these days! Had one as our main tree for several years now. A great investment.

Real non-needle-dropping trees still always drop their needles, meh.

Also bought a small 3' real tree in a pot a couple of years ago which we put in the back room but it's too wide now so we've put it outside in a bigger pot and gonna stick some outdoor lights on it to give a bit of depth in the garden.

Meccano was great! Loved it. A proper lad's toy. Used to be a bit of a Technical Lego freak around that age, too. Taught me a lot about spatial-awareness. Seems they've really dumbed it down now, though. beh

Real!

I still find needle's from our last christmastree, but nothing beats smell nor the fat warm organic touch them real trees has.

I find plastictrees abit dry and thin in both smell and touch!

Trust you're not using wobbly step-ladders to get the star on top of that then.

To carry a tree inside a house just to drop needles around and make life miserable... It's really no wonder that the tradition is German origin. The land of aggressive sounding language and painful tree traditions.

Oo Tannebaum, oo Tannebaum...
