i would not have backed rami's offer if i did not think he would keep things the way they are.

those who protect feel threatened in some way. this was only a genuine offer to help preserve the board - my main motive as stated numerous times in this thread.

if tommy can provide a medium though which we keep our board - then i thank him. just dont make the TI forum out to be some evil incarnation of this board...

cheers

Yes. I know. But eventually the users blend when the forums are on the same site and the pressure of unification gets bigger.

Radio stream, file hosting, endless traffic...

I said earlier that I don't have anything against the TI forum. All I just said that two almost identical forums under a same roof could eventually lead to a unification process, which would change thinds a lot. It's like moving to a big city from a small town.

But think of it: A links to two almost same forums. New people probably sing in to both of the forums and eventually majority of the double users get tired of bouncing between the forums and start to demand an unification. I don't say it will happen, but it could happen. Probably in the far future, but still the danger exists and I don't want to lose this board.

What is the feeling on changing from phpbb to vbulletin?

The db should be able to be converted without a problem.

I want a clear and clean appearance. Nothing too fancy and graphic-drenched.

Looks great TommyS. I think something simple would be cool and probably make the server run faster?

Also.....will you have the capability to not crop topics? Im hoping that if you do transplant our forum over to another host...then we can keep all posts and build a better knowledge base for the years to come.

Cheers man for seriously considering to save our forum
