Default Virus C arpeggiator won't trigger

So I thought that if the 'arp on' LED is lit, then chords played on my midi keyboard would be split into individual notes, and played according to the virus' set pattern and bpm, and repeated until the keys are released.

however, when I press 'arp on', the LED lights up but the notes come out just the same as if the arpeggiator is off - no repetition and no splitting chords into individual notes.

I'm using a Virus C running OS5.5, triggered by a 'Kawai Hypercat' MIDI keyboard - I had the same issue with a different keyboard though.

Anyone heard of this problem before?

I don't really want to have to update my OS, as my interface doesn't have MIDI ports.

Any input greatly appreciated.

Hi ,

I don't have a Virus C but do you have to set the Arp to sync to incoming midi? This is the case on most synths . The TI is like this

Thanks for the suggestion synthjockey, I'll look into it

although I can't remember seeing an option to sync the arp in the menu - just on/off/and patterns.

The manual says something along the lines of 'turn it on and you're ready to go'.
