WHOA, you can't master on headphones, it's not stereo for a start, it's binaural.
You lose lots of information about soundspace etc.

get two sets of monitors, a good pair of neutrals, check the reviews in soundonsound, and a another pair for reference, I use Harmon Kardon soundsticks as a second opinion.

At the moment I've got a pair of small self powered Yamaha MSP3's.
you can pick up a pair for less than a ton on ebay.
The soundstick II's were about the same from Amazon.
I A-B my mixes ALOT, I also keep a reference track I am familiar with close to hand.
I do use headphones as well, but never for the mix, just to make sure nothing outrageous has happened phase-wise.

I wouldnt rush out and buy a new pair of monitors...If you think it will be a magical fix for improving your mixes...

Maybe try some simple, inexpensive sound treatment of your space. Also, proper monitor placement and spacing is important. An example, I moved my monitors about a meter from the wall, and my mixes have improved as Im not trying to compensate for the 3dB increase in sound when near surfaces...

Also, just try getting used to your monitors. The more you know them and how they sound, as well as their shortcomings, the more your mixes will improve.

Just some suggestions...

If you know your headphones well, you can do good home masters with them too. I suggest Sennheiser HD600 or HD650. They are neutral enough that you can really mix with them. Good monitors can make mixing and mastering easier but you have to learn the monitors first. For me it takes at least several weeks to learn new monitors that I can really mix with them. I currently have Dyn BM15's which are good.

Mastering with headphones is a bit of a dead-end.
Its not stereo, so, if you want an accurate mix, you can't use headphones as what you'll end up with is a good headphone mix and thats all.
If thats what you want, go for it.
