Another thing is that I really like the standard offbeat-bass. I think it brings a good groove into the track when the kick and bass just goes forth while weird synths and the percussion brings energy into the track

Hey man dont be so quick to defend yourself...if you like the music you make then keep on doing it...If an individual doesnt show the open respect of other types of music and only wants to knock you then you need to acknowledge their existence...

peace

Hehe, my budget unfortunately screams "NO WAY!" at me...

So I'll be getting a mixer and compressor at first for playing live, and the hopefully somewhere in the future a good deal on some desent monitors will come up

Well I'm not back at work, but I thought I'd leave the computer on a DL a few tracks. Those of you using Soundclick (or similar) will have to wait till I'm on the cable - streaming sucks.

Not a bad track here mate. Intro is well thought out with some nice stereo space too. Some parts I felt became too minimal, but that's just me with this sort of tune. I like complexity when the beat is quite straight is all.

Drums - Like the general feel of the drums and I like the Snare substitue and also the dull bell. The drums could do with some beefing up a little though - A little more punch on that kick (personal choice though). I thought the kick sat too far back once the song gets moving.

Bass - Seemed to sit far back in the mix alot. I think beefing up the kick and the bassline would help the "groove" of the track a fair bit.

FX - The FX style synths are cool. Used well and fit well.

Pads and atmospherics - Probably my favourite part of the song actually. Pitty there wasn't more of them through-out the track - maybe would have helped the minimalist feel I mentioned earlier.

All in all a pretty good number. Found myself getting bored a little though after 3 mins or so, but that could be because it's not the style of music I normally get into to. I liked some of the synth sounds, although a few seemed the same as many other tracks in this genre.

Thanks for the listen.

Thanks Hollow

About the bass and kick. Those were my main problems with this track. I created the track within the first 14 days of owning the virus, and I basicly had no idea how it would turn out. It's a remake of an old track of mine, and the original has a FAR better groove (and doen't get as boring after a short while). An I too think it's a kick/bass issue. I'm getting a mixer today and a compressor in the begining of next month, and then I will beef up the kick and bass big time

That goes for all my tracks, since I'm doing a liveperformance in the start of october at a party where Analog Pussy is also playing

I'll have a look at those pads too, I think I've missed a 'channel-conversion', since there is a lot more happening in the original track.

Thank you very much for listening
