Default Access Virus B only giving a cracky or no sound at all plzz help!!

Hi all!

Sinds this week I have a new pc and today was the first day I tried recording with my Virus B on it. When I tried to make sounds with it I noticed that I dont get any sound out of it. Except one preset but the sound from that is very cracky and barely lisenable.

I myself tought it had something to do with my soundcard (Just an internal Creative HD card) but now Im not sure if this is the real problem because when I record on my much older pc I also use the internal Creative soundcard and had no problems with the sound at all...

This is my set-up:
Processor: AMD Phenom 64 X4, 4 ram gb with both Windows 7 (64 bit) and XP (some audio software only work with xp, but
when I tried recording on XP the sound still sucked...)
Virus OS version: 4.5.8

If anyone could help me with this I would really appreciate it

Stacking 16 voices can easily overload the signal headroom.

Two thoughts:

The sound could be clipping internally within the Virus. If so, turn the Patch Volume down (press the Edit button and keep scrolling to the far left until you see Patch Volume, then lower it).

The Virus could be clipping when being fed into Creative soundcard. If so, just turn the Virus' main master volume down.
