Default TI2 Keyboard Build Quality

Just got a new TI2 KB today, and I must say I'm a little disappointed with the build quality of my particular unit. All of the buttons on the far left side (Effects and Arp sections) are recessed nearly flush with the case, and feel like they're going to disappear inside the thing when pushed. Also, a couple of the knobs are very rough feeling when turned. The Send/EQ Gain knob is especially bad between the 20-80 range of its motion. It actually kind of makes it hard to turn it to an exact value.

Has anyone else experienced similiar issues with the TI2 KB? I thought the build quality of these things was supposed to be top notch.

I dont think the buttons should be flush, they should be the same as on any ti model 1-2 or the snow if im not mistaken. Check one out at your local music store and compare.

Whenever I push any of the four buttons in the Effects section I can see and feel the other three go further down into the Virus. It feels like that corner of the circuit board is not secured by anything and it just flexes downward whenever I use those buttons.

wow, this is rare. I've seen a number of terribly abused demo units, but this is the first out-of-the-box virus with such a significant flaw.

you should be getting a new one on warranty soon...

What I'd really like to know is if this is a design flaw of the new TI2 KB, or if it's just something simple like a loose or missing screw from that corner of the circuit board. I'm also pretty annoyed by the couple of gritty feeling knobs on the Virus.

I'm most likely going to have the place I bought it from exchange it for a new one.

that's why I don't order hardware but walk in and ask the people in the shop to unbox. fortunately we have a very pro and friendly synth store in Budapest, designed as a studio-living room =) you sit down on the couch and play any synth you want

good luck though and it's a pity you have problems
