I recently got myself an old Virus A ! Im super stoked about it! But when i hooked it up yesterday it did'nt work propperly. All the knobs don't work, nothing is happening on the display when i turn the knobs. But the press buttons works fine.. hmmm..

Any Suggestions ?

Hi there, really sorry about the delay, I'm away from home (inc. Internet) and the forum isn't usually this quiet!

Anyway, your Virus wasn't broken, I suspect the former user may have, for some unbeknown reason, selected "external MIDI only" from within the onboard settings, effectively de-activating the front panel.

If so and for future reference, it's easily fixed (no need to reset Virus or take battery out, etc.).

Press the "CTRL" button, then go through the menus (using the "Parameter" arrow keys) until you see:

1 MIDI
Panel = MIDI

Then use the Value arrow keys to make Panel = Int+MIDI

'Int' stands for internal (meaning local control), so setting it 'Int & MIDI' means you can use both the onboard knobs and external MIDI to change parameters.

Sorry I wasn't able to help you sooner. Enjoy your Virus! Any further queries, feel free to ask.
