Default ooh... :D

So if you make a pure sine wave on osc 1, a pure sine wave on osc 2, and then use some FM Triangle, you get this really cool warm burbly effect. :>

It really really really reminds me of Ecco the Dolphin for the Sega Megadrive, if anyone remembers that far back. There was a sound in the background track that was _exactly_ like this.

I love this sound, but I'm struggling to find the best way to use it in motion. LFO's sound too cyclical, envelopes are too short and predictable. Short of using the mod wheel to use it expressively on the fly, what other ways can I create motion by increasing/decreasing FM amount, that would sound good on this?

I'm hoping to end up with a really nice warm pad of sorts.

When it comes to pad sounds it in general helps to use random on the LFO Rate, what makes the LFO less predictable when playing chords. When it comes to the envelopes, have you tried recursive modulation to change its curve?

Ooh.. did forget LFO can be set to random...

What do you mean by recursive modulation? I guess that would be a no.. :p

Recursive envelope programming is described on page 25 of the programming analog synths tutorial, what is part of the Virus Control installation.

When it comes to random, I wasn't refering to LFO shapes but using the random modulation source on the LFO Rate, to have a slightly random vibrato speed for every voice, but the LFO Keyfollow parameter probably do too, in case you're running short on matrix slots.
