Has anyone who listed Paul Okenfold seen him live?
When I saw him live he sucked hardcore, was really disapointed.
Marco Carola, however, rocks ass live. I've never seen a DJ get everyone in the club (including bartenders etc) rockin' to the beat for his whole set.
Nick Warren GU Amsterdam and John Digweed GU Hong Kong are some of my favorite mixes, but I'm not as impressed with the more recent stuff these guys have done.
I'm starting to like the Steve Lawler, Hernan Cattaneo, Parks and Wilson, Danny Howells kinda stuff more.
And speaking of this genre, what would you call this stuff, Progressive House? Also, does anyone know the "popular" synths they use to make "progressive house?"

Honestly, i cant believe how anyone can put a trance dj on the list.... Great tracks, probably, mixed perfectly, i hope to god that anyone can mix trance and not wreck! but trance to me is created in the studio and merely showcased live. DJ's of other stles have to work much harder...
Just my opinion......
Richie Hawtin is far in away the best dj i've seen, he creates all his own breakdowns live, its more along the lines of a live PA than a DJ set, he remixes everything on the fly, i suggest everyone go see him no matter what music you're into....
Also, House: Bad Boy Bill, Drum n Bass: Aphrodite or Adam F, both wicked... and MAD respect for fatboy slim, the only man i've seen mix rock n roll/drum n bass/house/techno and punk in 1 set......

Yeah I'm with you on Fatboy Slim. Real party music.
I think my favourite DJ though is James Zabiela. I can understand some people can't get into his style because it isn't exactly throw your hands in the air stuff but his technical ability is just beyond anything I've seen.

i would say the usual stuff-VAs and analog gear....
i know alot of guys are using NI's Absynth which is an amazing hybrid synth.

Yeah, Carl Cox seemed to go from fantastic to really shitty for some reason. His FACT 1 mix cd is fantastic and from what I can tell actually mixed rather than cut and pasted together in pro-tools.
It was after that he seemed to go downhill and that was in 95 so 10 years of going downhill means he is pretty shitty now
