Can you *HEAR* the difference?

My weblog told me, that there were several hits from this forum to this pretty old part of my homepage

So I thought it could be useful to clarify a few things:

First, I made this little test just for fun and to test if my personal synth programming skills would be sufficient to program at least similar sounds on several synths. I didn't put too much effort into programming in terms of identical sounds.
As Ben already said and as one can hear, there are considerable differences in envelope times, amounts detune and so on.
Most important is the fact that there are significant volume differences. Most people considered the loudest sound to be the best

So please look upon this "test" just as a fun project and don't take it too serious.

I am sure that Ben Crosland can reprogram most of the examples on a Virus. But why should he ? It's not a very interesting sound
