Dark Tranquillity's "Terminus" Intro Lead

I'm trying to get a sound like the one in this song's intro [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uZCjn1IHuvI]
you can hear it from the start... I think I can achieve the morphing whit the filter cutoff, but...the lead itself? it seems a sort of "soft lead" but I can't get it.
if you know how to build a sound like this, plz tell me. a preset useful as starting point will be welcome as well
