Crikey - they sound *so* much like the originals!

I'm *very* impressed!

Just for everybody else's benefit, Purusha has been involved in the free party circiut round Leeds for a good few years now and has organised many excellent nights

Hi yourself Smag!

To be fair - our parties are not usually free, but we have done a couple of outdoor freebies!

BTW - not a huge Jarre fan myself. If we're talking classic synth dudes, I'm more of a Tangerine Dream (up until mid 80's), Vangelis, Klaus Schulze fan.

I'm really not sure I'd call him a pioneer (as cited above). People were doing what he did *many* years before he did his thing (and then recycled it to death IMO).

Also BTW - apparently Jarre did a track a couple of years ago with Natacha Atlas (now I *am* a big fan of hers). Must try and find that at some point...

We're talking psychedelic trance, progressive trance, hard techno, chill-out, world music, psychedelic/prog rock parties.

Check the Cabbage link below for more of an idea.

We're very *festival* influenced / oriented. Just doing it indoors through the non-Summer months.

now thats more like it

im based in melbourne now, but im previously from the byron bay area of nsw in australia - along with some friends we put on quite a few parties around the coast....

much more into progressive styles myself - two of my favourite acts are sensient and suncontrolspecies (tim and drew both used to play and organise parties with me back on the coast... drew actually lives about 4 blocks from me atm)

tims label - zenon records - have a new release available on saikosounds and psyshop called Intelligent Manipulation. Even if you dont buy it at least check out the artwork by aaron shaw - his designs are amazing.

im pete anyway. glad to hear someone here appreciates progressive

Hi Pete.

(apologies for hi-jacking this thread a bit BTW)

I know a few musos from the Byron Bay area as it happens. Mainly related to Kangaroo Moon & Gong.

Also worked with some of the Demon Tea guys from that part of the world.

BTW - I DJ the psy-trance and chill-out end of things at our parties.

Haven't run into Franny. We had 'Nam Shub of Enki' play one of our parties a couple of years ago (he's on that label).

Demon Tea aren't necessarily to my taste either BTW.
