Electro/Lounge lead - how to create?
Hello,
I'd need some help, maybe synthesis freaks can help me here.
I have heard these leads in several songs, and wonder how to create them. Would not be surprised if this would have a special name (or is this just a chord?), but these are definately not simple 5th leads...
I attached two soundfiles containing those lead sounds.
First one (electrolead.mp3) has a special vibrato and some kind of chords, and the second (loungelead.mp3) is a bit "fluffy".
Here they are:
Electro Lead
Lounge Lead
Any idea how to create these two similar leads?
I have a Virus Powercore only...
Any ideas are welcomed!

Hm... no idea?
Just tried to find if it is just a chord.. but does not seem to be..
Some LFO delayed causing a slight vibrato on the Electro Lead, it is ok.
Do you think does this ElectroLead use chromatic scaled tuning?

What do you feel about this?
electrolead_alex.mp3
loungelead_alex.mp3
The first one is an Em chord.. I think. Don't think I nailed the sound completely though.. But it's one oscillator pitched 2 octaves over the first, a 3/4 synced LFO vibrato, and play a bright Em
The second one I don't know what is called, but hold the following:
Bass note E
keys in chord: G, A, H, D
Basically just a big unison lead (but little to no spread, and one of the oscs being one of the static waves you can select, to give it a little "flavour". Pitched one octave above the saw..
Best,
Alex

Hi Alex,
thanks for the contribution! These are really very close to the audio samples I sent, great work!
In the meantime I also managed to make very similar to the electrolead on Virus Powercore, also found the sounds of the chords, but yours sounds better...
Will try it to make them ...or may I ask you to send patches in *.mid format?
Thanks and cheers,
Bacizone

H?
Most chords can be looked up using a bunch of free chord finder sites on the net. I also recommend the Jazz Piano book by Mark Levine, it shows you lots of great shapes. If that H is actually a B its just a Em7add11, just not whacking the 9th (f#) in there. Dont get too bogged down on chord names anyway, the sounds what counts .
