Default Access Virus Master Class - S.O.S. Article

Hi there tweakers,

I found a printed copy of the August 2004 Sound On Sound article "Access Virus Master Class - Synth Programming Workshop" in my studio. I don't know where I found it originally but it's a good article and I thought I'd share the link to it here:

http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/aug0...svirustips.htm

Enjoy!

-Alex

"If you switch the Arpeggiator to its fastest Clock setting, you can generate whirring, buzzing distortions."

There's something I never thought to try before.

Bit like the high-speed multiplexing of the old SID / Tracker stuff of the Commodore64/Amiga generation.

Manuel Schleis and others also use LFOs at the fastest settings (controlling pitch or similar) to add a buzzy distortion effect. The good thing with using LFOs in this way is that you can control the amount, so you can add just a little distortion, rather than it having to be 100% wet like the arpeggiator.

Selecting a different LFO shape also tweaks the distortion character slightly.
