Default Virus Ti Polar good for hip hop

I'm hesitating in purchasing this monster.
I got a SE SE1X mono analog synth , an XV 3080 & a Motif Rack 9 few VST plugins.
I wana the same arsenal as Dr Dre, Mike Dean & those westcoast producers with fat pads, big whinning lead, phat basslines.
I wanna have ya opinion on my case, if the virus TI is good with his presets for that matter & more importantly to program my own patch to make some gangstafied rap beats.
Thx for the inputs.

For fat beats, you need a crunchy sampler, samples and outboard/plugins. Virus isn't primarily a drum-machine (although it can indeed synthesise certain kinds if you have the expertise).

Virus is good for the pads, and darker sounds.
Fat basslines take a bit of coaxing, maybe I'm approaching it slightly wrong.

yeah its a great synth.
you should be covered for bass parts with your studio electronics analog synth because the virus is not too good at clasic analog bass parts but it can be done with adding eq,analog boost & a nice amount of unison.
better learn the basics of analog\subtractive synthesis because its a huge waste to spend 2500-3000$ and just use the factory presets.

Shouldn't be a problem.

of course i'm about to program my own patch/preset.
But is there some program focusin' on hip hop sounds on access site or elsewhere, to have already steady patchs to make hip hop music with the TI.

Virus lacks the bass. You better use the SE1X for the bass. I guess that's why you have bought it anyway? You get nice pads and leads from virus. Use something else for bass. Some people say that they get nice basses out of virus but for hip hop, IMO no. I guess the bass plays a very important role in hip hop so use the SE1X or another analog synth for it. Many people haven't even compared the virus and some analog synths doing basses. It's like comparing a real jp80x0 to Superwave vsti. So sad, some people don't hear the difference even there.

With a real analog synth you get much more punch and clean heavy bass tone which shakes the place. With virus you can get a sound which sounds ok but doesn't have the raw power of an analog. You can always turn up the volume to make everything loud but the sound of the virus is more compressed and does not have the same power. It's like trying to push an amplifier and it just cannot give more. Or you can think it also by the base frequency and harmonic frequencies. With analog synth, you get more powerful base frequency which shakes the place. With Virus it's sometimes like the the base frequency is missing and you hear much more of the harmonics. Hard to explain. And the filter is also important and an analog sound is totally free of aliasing which also makes it more powerful.
