Talking Ti2 61 keys vs. Ti2 Desktop + Top Midicontroller

Hi everyone! I´m glad to have found your forum!

So...I have a big dilemma:

I´m selling my Nordmodular G2x and want really change to a virus Ti2. It has soooo much better presets and it´s soooo much more easier and faster to manipulate a sound with a TOP result!

I want to do some industrial music but not just at home, also live performances, especially as an one man show.

My education is jazzpiano (wierd...but i have a darkside in me)...so most of the synth-keys, feels very very strange, fragil and to light for me...so my question is:

Has anyone experience with a Virus Ti2 desktop, connected to a graded hammer action keys? I´m especially into this one:

http://www.thomann.de/gb/fatar_vmk176_plus.htm

But if you say, it´s not a good idea because of the aftertouch etc, etc,etc...i could understand it very well and have this second radical choice:

http://www.thomann.de/gb/akai_mpk_61.htm

Final: What setup would you prefer?

1. Virus Ti2 61 keys
2. Virus Ti2 + Fatar vmk 176
3. Virus Ti2 + Akai mpk 61

Will appreciate very much your opinion!!!!

Danke!!!

1. Virus Ti2 61 keys

Think about the value. It's original. If you're going to invest in something that's already high at the price point, a few hundred dollars more should be spent to get the complete package.

That's what I did and I don't regret buying the Virus TI 61-keys at all.

Thanks for the reply!

Is it true that the Virus Ti2 keybed is from Fatar? Are they semi-weighted but heavy/firm without making to much noise?...would be nice...

I´m asking because where i live (berlin!) there is no store with a virus Ti2 with 61 keys to try it out!!!...just the Polar...and i had doubts...

Is there any difference of the keybed between the Ti2 and the Polar? I think that I´ve read somewhere that yes...

The TI2 Keyboard has semi-weighted keys whereas the TI2 Polar has synth-weighted keys. I personally prefer the semi-weighted so I can get all kinds of different velocities while playing. A lot of sounds react differently depending on the velocity of the initial keystroke.

Go for the TI2 Keyboard. It's worth every penny!
