In these cases it's good to have a protective separation transformer and always get an extension cord big enough to fit all of your gear in one extension cord. Making a daisychain with extension cords is not a good thing.

Other problem is that if you take power from two different outlets, there might be in a different phase. This means that in worst case you have 230V potential difference between the grounds and that will cause hum and hiss.

Well, I tell you what I ve 12 separate wall plugs with only one plug going in to each one and even when i just have my virus going straight in to my monitors I still get quite a bit of white noise which irritates me so fucking much!!!

Ive got in to a habbit off listening to it to much though LOL!!

Also the other day I plugged some planet wave cables in to it and coz there a little tighter then most jack leads, when i pulled um out it pulled the metal rimming off inside the virus output making me think these are cheaply made or atleast not designed to its full potential!!!

I mean it dosnt really matter but just sumin that is annoying me!!!

any joy DS?

303....

Is this noise present in a any recording u make?

*I use Planet Wave cables aswell and yes they are very tight fitting in the audio sockets of the virus. I think i might have to replace those cables b'cos I think they are straning the inputs/outputs too much

Phone up ur local power supply company and tell them that they are fucking u up with all this noisey power that they are supplying u! U could always invest ?30 to get a mains cleaner.....i use this on hifi to great effect. Using it on studio gear is also a must in imho.

*I sometimes get a bit of noise...whereas other times its totally silent. It could be the power supply coming into ur house is a little 'dirty'. It does happen.
