Default From OS 2.7 back to OS 2.5

Aey guys,

I've installed OS 2.7 two weeks ago and find it very unstable. Is it possible to go back to OS 2.5 or is that gonna be a problem??
i ask it here because it's a tricky activity and ofcourse i don't like to fuck up my virus

Thanks!

Frank

It should work no problems I had to do it becuase 2.7 wouldn't work with Vista, just uninstall the 2.7 beta and then reinstall the 2.5 OS.

I've done the exact thing and there are no probs at all going back to it - you have to uninstall 2.7 and then just install 2.5 as you originally did. I have found there to be too many problems on 2.7 - e.g midi and audio going all out of sync The only reason I installed it was to try out the atomizer but thats about it. Hope they bring out the proper version soon

hey marc, on a side note - there was a poster on the Ableton Live forums who said that he talked with ableton and they acknowledged that the 2.7 beta version of virus control had serious issues with version 7.x of Live and that ableton/access were working on it.

is there any validity to that?

yes, the combination of the two will crash when you turn a knob in certain circumstances. we are working on it.

Well at least not on my system, it would not install the firmware.

I was advised by Access to try the update with a different OS or even if possible a MAC, so with the exact same PC I tried Windows XP and the installation went fine.

I have now moved all of my music production to an XP enviroment since the Virus still would not work in Vista even though it had the 2.7 firmware installed.
