Default Pitch glide, is there an easier way?

Hi!

Back when i still had a Supernova IIR i often used a setting that made the oscillator(s) glide given semitones in a given time. This was very easy to accomplish with the twist of two knobs.

Now is there any other way to do the same on the virus c:

oscillator 1 menu -> FltEnv Ptch
oscillator 2 menu -> FltEnv Ptch

Now it uses the filter envelope for pitch shift, ofcourse you get more control but it follows the filter envelope which isn't always a good thing.

Thanks!

yeah that is one of the things that the virus lacks! a seperate envelope for pitch modulation is a good feature, anyway, right now you have three possibilities:

either
- in the oscillators menu, use the filter envelope to control the pitch, which is, as you said, a very limited way

or
- use LFO1 with the extra 64 waveshapes to control osc1+osc2, the waveshapes are so un-conventional that they can make very weird pitch modulations.

anf finally
- use the mod matrix, source=amp envelope and dest=osc1 and osc2, but this is exactly the same problem as the first, you are limited to the amp envelope shape

Well there is one way you can do it...what you do is open up your virus find out the board they use and program another envelop heck even 2 then remake the virus OS and compile it...load it to your new virus and viola you have more envelopes...easy isnt it...or you can go into the main edit menu and set the pitch bend up to the highest setting and modulate the pitch bend to your desire...peace

Just use LFO 1 in envelope mode.

What do you mean? Change how? You can change the speed and shape. It's no ADSR but personally I never use more than a decay stage for sounds with pitch env modulation.
