Help with detuning

OK I'm such a newb in programming. I am doing my best to get the sounds I want out of my head but for now I have been simply finding a patch I like and tweaking it the way I feel.

So the problem is when I get that patch in tune with the drums I start creating another patch to add more depth.

For example a bassline. Now the bassline kind of sounds off and needs to be in tune with the other sound. So I'm having trouble l making them interact better together.

Should I just go to common parameters and detune the entire patch until it sounds in tune with the other patch or detune within the OSC section? Or maybe both? hehe

I can't send the patch to give you a better idea what I'm talking about, but I will send later on.

But if someone can give me a better idea how to get them both in tune and the method to do so that will be great.

Are you tweaking the semitones more than you need to? Stick to the root note, or to mixing in thirds, fifths, sevenths or octaves for standard stuff unless of course you're using Sync with Osc-2.

I actually leave the semitones dead middle. And I was using sync with OSC-2. But I ended up disabling it and just using OSC-1 before advancing to two OSCs. And I find myself not moving Semitones because it sounds off and not in key.

I need to understand this semitone concept within the OSC section more.

Why make them interact why not get them to detune to fuck??

But in answer to your question..Use the same patch twice then start tweaking the second patch to your liking so putting more depth into your bassline,avoid detuning..

It all depends on what sound your looking for,but if your doing Dance music then there are no rules !!
I would use Virus Conrol if your not doing so already...With Virus control you can save a great patch very easy and go back to it if you start messing up the sound.Also within the Virus Conrol you have fast easy access to all parameters which makes working faster and easier not to mention how much shit you can learn about tweaking your Ti...
I have never used anything else but the Virus Control I love it
I sometimes actually touch the Cutoff knob on my Hardware

You know I love the saying "NO RULES"

I guess thats why I have taken the challenge to create house music
This way no one can say....DUDE YOUR WRONG! LOL!

Then I can say "REALLY? THERE ARE NO RULES THOUGH!" LOLOL!

And I already use the Virus Control. I have found that I have been tweaking the sound and when I do mess up I simply click the original patch back in...hehehe

And I dont do that again..lol But I will tackle the situation in another way...

But I have found times I do actually touch the knobs...give me that feel like i'm actually doing something....LOLOL!
