Default Better manual

(Apologies for cross-posting, but thought this might be useful for anyone who's first Virus is a TI.)

Frustrated with the TI manual?

I downloaded the manual for the Virus C from the Access website. It's loads more informative than the TI manual - full of helpful hints, and general concepts and ideas behind the functions, rather than simply what each thing does. It's got a much bigger introduction, a huge concepts and operation section, plus dedicated sections for the vocoder, the keyboard, using the virus with a sequencer and whole loads more. Almost all of this stuff is 100% relevant to the TI, since this is, after all, an evolutionary synth.

You just need to skip the central section of the manual that deals with the actual parameters, since this is the bit that has most probably changed, and is anyway covered in the TI manual.

I can not understand why Access have stripped the TI manual down to such bare bones. The synth is much more extensive and it has dedicated software, yet they reduced the physical size of the manual by at least half.

As a complement to the Virus C manual, download the excellent 'Programming Tutorial' from the same page.

Agreed. I think the manual stinks also.

I must admit that over the past two days of troubleshooting that I have been doing, that I have learned quite a bit about the TI that isn't covered in the manual. Perhaps we should create a tips and tricks section for the TI here on the forum?

Yeah why not create a dedicated Virus TI users site instead

I honestly would rather keep it here. Even though other virus models are covered on this forum, I think the TI gets excellent coverage here.
