Default need a new interface

I'm dropping Pro Tools, from my set-up. And out with Pro Tools goes my DIGI 001. ( I need the money ). Anyway, once my DAW is complete I'm picking up an RME 9652. Well for the time being on my old DAW, I'd like to pick up something a little cheaper to tide me over, I'm thinking of going back to M-audio for a liitle while ( 2 months ) but i'm open to anyone's suggestions of manufacturers. I dont really need anything outlandish, 2 audio I/O, ( preferably 1/4 inch) midi I/O and thats about it.

Anybody use anything from E-mu, juct curious. thanks.

I have mixed feelings about my EMU1820m.
The drivers were REALLY bad for the first year but now they seem really stable. It wouldnt recommend their products but its not bad

I was thinking about an 0404, but from what you said above I'm rethinking that now.

I did recently come across a LynxOne card for a decent price. I checked out it's specs and everything does look really nice on paper. ( kind of a distant second to RME's stuff )

I might pick that up or just go back to audiophile 2496 for the time being. The thing that pisses me off about M-audio's gear is that all the audio I/O's are in stereo. So rather than being able to use my good 1/4's I've got to use the shitty 1/4" to RCA you get from radio shack.
