Default Does ANYONE have the "all in one" thing going : Virus TI/TI2 POLAR + Macbook Pro/LP9?

give it yo me STRAIT NO CHASER.

if i buy this TI Polar today will the VC have the same AU simplicity as say, my Novation V-station when tracking and playing back while the TI runs in soundcard mode? is the sound degradation still there even with TI OS 3 and"The Access Virus TI2 Polar synthesizer takes the revered Virus TI to the next level, boasting 25% more calculating power"? where does calculating power translate to?

i was thinking since both Apple and Access updated their products at the same time the LATENCY would vanish and the 25% would make the souncard mode SOUND mirror the standalone sound. i did a search but there are new updates to test out the new age question......

does anyone have the "all in one" thing going successfully with just a Virus TI/TI2 and a macbook pro running VC in Logic Pro 9?

Thank You

The "R"

o....k...........i used to own a mpc4000 with a v-synth xt as my soundcard. i had Sound Quest's editor integrate the XT as a pluggin waaaaaaay before the TI was born. i wanted TOTAL integration so i sold it and here i am again with that "itch" for far better synth patches than Logic Pro native's has to offer. right now i have a 2.33ghz MBP17 with 3gb, lacie 7200rpm, 640gb, little big disk quadra, eSata, mobile hd, duet, mpk49, mpd32 and ultrasone proline 750 cans. i WILL get the bread but i need to know the limitations before i buy cause i have been a beta-monkey for too many OEMs.

do i fit "in the market" as a potential Virus TI2 owner?

I will give you some advice as we don't like unhappy customers around here...

1) Buy a real sound interface and let your synth hardware do what it does best - make synth sounds.
2) Will the sound degrade? Have no idea, but running it in standalone mode through some nice outboard gear and then into some good AD converters will definitely improve it.
3) Buy back the V-Synth and never say you sold it, as you need to redeem yourself in production circles for selling a great machine just because it doesn't "totally intergrate".

Hope that satisfies you deeply. If you still feel the need to fuck us all then it's maybe best you head off.

I agree with HollowCell, you should jump down a well for selling the V-Synth!

Nope, he said he sold it because he wanted something with "total intergration"...

I can't see much of a reason to upgrade from the XT to a GT (even with the new update), but I could maybe see the reason if you have the old V-Synth keyboard without the VocalD or the D50 cards.

But.... If they changed the filters I would consider upgrading as I am sick of having to use all the Cosm sections to build one nice sounding filter, but other than that the XT is by far my favorite noise maker hands down!
