Virus KC with Cubase SX 2 probs.

Again I might ask stupid questions but I've found it the easiest way to get my probs solved is to post questions on this forum.
So I'm having trouble getting cubase to play say a midi programmed pattern through my virus. I get the midi signals and all in and out from cubase but it won't play on the virus. I use a midisport 2x2 midi contoller and it works fine. Any suggestions of what to do cause I REALLY can't play my virus live and record it. Need it to work like a vst or something like that. Oh and how come I have to use the sounddiver in order to play my virus on the computer? Been woundering about that. Hope you can help.

Is the Virus receiving midi?

Look for a little note in the Virus screen. A solid note means it is - an outlined note means it is, but you need to select the correct midi channel - no note at all means it isn't.

You don't need to use Sounddiver if you wish. I don't use it, but I have always liked programming with the controls.
