Default First UK owner of the Virus TI2!

On Saturday I did the business - bought the TI2 61 key version from Digital Village. I'm officially the first person in the UK to pre-order.....for £1893.24 (Thomann price match).

I'll let you know what its like as soon as Ive taken delivery...

I'm thinking about taking the plunge because right now is a good time to sell the original TI while it's still "equal" in terms of features. I'm guessing they'll release a new OS with user sampling for the TI2. Don't they have to keep up with the Nord Wave and Waldorf Blofeld? But what I'm REALLY hoping for with the TI2 is that Virus Control will sync to MIDI clock. If you could let us know how it works in your DAW I'd really appreciate it. What kind of system are you running?

I'm guessing the extra 25% processing power was put there for a reason....

Having spoken to a couple of Access bods...I think the TI2 might be the last in the TI line. I genuinely think the next major product Access put out will be something different.

I use Cubase 4, RME FF800.....

£1893? And that's a match? I can't believe how much the actual store price has increased on the previous TI which I believe was always about £1499.

Not disputing that the TI isn't a great synth but...

digital village appear to be the only shop in the uk currently listing the TI2.

I will be pissed off if in several weeks time...a couple of the other stores start listing the new TI2 at £1700.

Its very difficult to guage right now what the true price in the UK should be. I have been cross referencing with Thomann in Germany - if something here costs £900....at Thomann it would cost £1000....so its slightly more expensive. In other words....the TI2 I secured for £1893....could well be worth around £1700. Problem is only DV are listing them here.

I might query this with them tomorrow before transferring the rest of the money.

You can't be the first to order and at the same time get a good price, better pricing will come along in 12 months. And you'll be the first to report hardware problems if this new unknown has any (although I think Access really knows what it is doing by now).

This rumour that there are extra capabilities to be revealed in the future is just plain stupid. While it may be true, I would consider purchasing a TI2 now and betting it will have sampling/modular programming/6 op fm isn't realistic.

Just buy the damn thing, feel righfully smug and enjoy it for the emotional purchase it is. No need to justify the purchase, congratulations DS!
