Default Nord Leader!

I received this mail from a swedish friend of mine.

It's the latest to come out of Clavia. And fuck me, it looks nice!

This is the full keyboard version of the Leader series from Clavia. There's a rack and mini version too...

Sorry about the bandwitdh though guys, but I didn't want to shrink it too much for you - thought you'd want the detail. If you want the bigger pic, PM me and I'll email it to you.

Also if the picture isn't showing, wait till the next day. My picture server only allows a couple of meg transfer per 24 hours.

This is the mail.

Firewire and USB conection with full VSTi intergration.
10 Balanced Analogue outs.
2 Balanced Analogue inputs.
Mic input.
Optical in/out.
70 voice.
Flashcard slot for memory and wave storage.
3 OSC with standard waves (also some special new waves to be released).
2 OSC with user import wavetable.
Velocity, aftertouch and off-velocity sensative keyboard.
Track ball control for wavetable section.
2 Nord mod wheels, but one of them is a continuous controller. (both can be assigned to any or all mod matrix destinations)
Wooden pitch control.
14 Filter types, 2 at once can be used.
Programmable appegiator. Programmed from included software.
96 band Vocoda.

That's about it at the time being S*****. One interesting features we maybe will include is abiltity to load in new synthesis types (aditive, sample playback and PCM) are being spoken about. These will go in the place of the Wavetable section - nothing set now though.

Sinceerely,
S****** Y******.
Looks damn fine!

I sent a mail back to him asking why they did show the thing at Namm. He said "We would never show a product at Namm that we couldn't have ready for release by the end of the show". Not like some company I know.

Maybe some of the top Access sound designers defected and went to Clavia, thus slowing the release of the TI and hastening the arrival of HC's newest ficticious beast?

Why would anyone name a picture file "NordLeader-Final-small.JPG" if it wasn't a computer graphics mock-up and that was the "Final" version?

(I do that all the time, ie. saving differing generations of images as I continually work on them towards the finished graphic).

Those buttons inbetween the mod wheels and the actual keys look a little suss, too. Possibly computer generated, and a bit small.

Hollow, mail us the Final fak... i mean Final-large.JPG do0oo00ood+

PS> You're nearly the only guy on the boards to spell 'integration' as "intergration".

PPS > Well done for dropping the aciiiid coloured background, and the A4 sized backdrop.

PPPS > Your hoaxes are getting better. I had to pull out all stops and anal, nit-picking psychology tactics on this one.

PPPPS > I'll seriously kick myself if this turned out to be true. Oh well, good job I can't afford the TI for a while, to see if it is.

PPPPPS > It looks ace.

No, no, that's how they spell it in Sweden you know. It's that Swedish accent in writing!

Bloody hell, why won't no one beleive me!?

One thing that worried me about the picture though, was the text in the small LCD on the right. Looks as if Timo may have spoted it though.

This looks interesting but some parts of the picture don't look very promising. Like the TV-remote stylish buttons next to the mod wheels and the extra little lcd on the right. This picture could be generated from the existing Nord Lead3 pictures easily.

However, if this is true, thumbs up for Clavia. The price will definitely be in the same class as the TI's if this comes up. This Leader and TI would be the 2 most wanted digital synths for sure.
