Default Multi Mode (new hard synth user) (unsolved)

I've sold my powercore virus, and bought the rack xl.

I was hoping to be able to select 4 presets, assign them as 4 parts, each with their own midi channel and output path, fed into a mixer for playing 4 tracks of virus tracks (bass, arps, lead, chords for example).

I could do this with the powercore virus easily enough.

Whenever I load a soundset, in single mode everything is OK, 128 presets all in a line, numerical order. But when I switch to multi-mode, about 8 patches from the soundset remain in part A, but nothing remains conistant to the soundset (this is hard to explain), it's all really random, with loads of presets missing from the set, and the same ones repeated right through after multi # 32.

Are hard virus's not capable of multi-mode preset assigning like the powercore is?

All help is greatly appreciated.

Shayne

I only have experience with the TI, but I'm sure your XL is multitimbral. Look in multi-edit to see if you need to set the channel that each part responds to. It sounds like you might have 8 parts set to the same MIDI channel.

Default Thanks, I figured it out.

I spend some time scannning through the forum, and was able to piece together what I needed to do.

The synth is incredible, but Access should be embarressed about the crap job they have done with the manual.

many thanks to all who post on the forum.

Default Multi-timbral playback is terrible!

I 've managed to assign 6 parts, to six midi channels. It's fine for playing each at a time from the piano.

but it won't play any more than 3 at the same time, asking it to play just one crotchet on each, as the fourth part comes in the 1st part stops playing.

This is supposed to be 32 voice synth, it's not managing 4!

help please.

Shayne

Default What is considered a voice?

What is it that I only have 32 of? I was under the impression that a note was a voice,

Help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks
