Default Something loose in my "new" used Virus TI KB

Hello all!

I just purchased a used Virus TI 61-note keyboard. I received it in the mail today. It was poorly boxed and some cosmetic damage. There is also something loose inside of the keyboard. The keyboard is out of warranty. I do not want to turn it on and short something out.

Here is my question. How do I open up the keyboard to check out what is loose in the unit? I have opened synthesizers before, but not this keyboard. I managed to open the left side of the top. But the right side had an edge catch on the bottom right edge of the keybed. What screws do I need to take off? How do I completely open the top of the keyboard? Where can I find this information?

Thank you!

Bob Graham

Hi Bob, not sure if they've changed the chassis since the Virus Bs, but here's how I opened my Virus Indigo:

If it's a loose screw, all you may need to do is remove the keybed to see what's rattling, rather than take the off the whole backing.
