Default Osx 10.3.9

Which OS is most stable for use with OSX 10.3? I have 10.4 on my desktop, but my laptop (a 12" powerbook g4 1.27gHz) is still trapped in 10.3s-ville. I'd like to use my TI Snow with Live 7 on the road and OS 2.7 isn't happy with my outdated mac OS. Help? Thoughts? (Or does anyone know where I can get 10.4 cheap? I refuse to update to leopard--I also run Adobe CS2 and there are major compatibility problems there...)

10.3.x won't work, you need 10.4.6 at least
