Smile Virus A in a midi setup

Hey everyone,

first time poster here. I recently got a used Virus A, and this being my first Virus, I had a question about setting it up in my system. This is going to see ridiculously basic for you experts, but if you can bear with me, I'd really appreciate it.

I have a Roland JX-8P that I want to use, at least for this setup, purely as a MIDI controller. I'm using a MacBook Pro, Apogee Duet, and Logic Pro 8. I also have a Roland UM-1EX USB MIDI interface. I figured out how to use the keyboard as a controller--that part was easy. Here's what I want to do.

I want to be able to play the JX-8P and have its MIDI information placed into Logic, but record the audio from the Virus. So, I guess I need two simultaneous tracks in Logic--external MIDI and stereo audio. But--how can I successfully get my Roland's MIDI output into Logic?

Again, I realize this might be a super-simple question, and that I'm a first-timer here Any help would be appreciated!
