Default NAMM (Winter 2015)

Seems like a very hopeful year for interesting new gear announcements:

"This represents a 20% increase in the segment’s NAMM Show brand presence compared to 2014. The synthesizer market has nearly doubled its show floor square footage since last year, making this one of the show’s fastest-growing segments."

Kemper are imminently releasing a controller for their Profiling Amps:

As thus, no teasers from Access regards the Virus.

Korg will be re-releasing the Arp Odyssey under official endorsement:

Edit, whoops, didn't see the above.

Roland will be releasing a new synth, dubbed the JD-Xi.

More pix (click for large):-

I'd imagine it's virtual analogue due to its Aira livery, so may possibly see several plug-out synth models. Likely competing with the likes of the UltraNova or MicroKorg. Looks like there's a step/modulation-sequencer on there with the 16 buttons above the keys... er, mini keys, bleurgh.

What is that small device next to the JD-Xi, shown on the last picture? It's to the left of the JD-Xi and just above the DJ mixer, and looks like it has just 4 main knobs, one of which has a large round silver bezel around it.

Cheers Chim'.

You know, if Kemper can put a nice, larger LCD display on a foot-pedal controller, they could at least slap one into a TI|3!

Effectively bringing Virus Control back to the Virus in many ways, and allowing it to do more advanced graphical-based sound sculpting.

Just as AKAI are using what looks like high-res colour OLED screens on their new Advance controller keyboards:

Looks like even the new Nord synth, whatever it is, will have a larger blue/black OLED:
