Default Anybody check this Modular software out yet. . . . .

Check this nice piece of FREE software out for the PC. Modular setup with a nice following. Looks pretty cool. I dont have a PC, so report back with what you think. Defenitely not for the beginner though.

Tested out yet? One collegue from GoaArchive made tracks with Buzz in 1999.

The thing that applies to (almost) everything free also applies to Buzz - The quality/price rate is great because it's free, but still great quality costs and that's what free plugins unfortunately cannot offer.

Interesting concept.

It's especially neat that these modules are coded with system performance in mind.

So many VSTis are CPU and RAM hogs; it's nice that someone is writing clean code!

Merlot, haven't you been using Cubase for a while?

If so are you considering switching for any particular reason?

I have always been a logic user. Just a little pissed at the moment that garageband is getting the updates before Logic pro. Apple has the $$$ on their brain and are catering to the low end users first, which is fucked up considering the price of logic pro.
I have used cubase since SX1. Haven't used it for the past 2 years though. Just got my upgrade to 3 in the mail and am toying around with it. Completely different workflow from logic, so I am just messing around with it for now. I do like the UI better than logic though. That being said, I am not switching yet. I also am in love with Live 4. So easy to bang out ideas in that program.

What are you using?

The reason I brought this up, was because I was reading some interviews with artists like Oliver Lieb, and James holden. Their mentioned they love this software, so I checked it out. Unfortunately it is PC only, so I cant test it or anything. Thought I might share it.

On one press conference Apple management announced that they are more and more concentrating on iPod and other cheaper consumer level products. This means that Logic developement will get badly omitted and the wished completely rebuild (a'la Cubase VST32 -> Cubase SX) Logic 8 will be a big question mark. I wonder is this really a smart move from Apple because huge part of Mac users are Logic slaves.

I'm using Cubase now.

It's the cheapo version that came with some of my gear.

I will probably buy SL3 soon as it is the only cross platform sequencer left.

I use a PC predominately but my father in law is giving me his old G4 dual processor Power Mac.

I will probably move all my DAW stuff onto it as I get real nervous with all the stuff my wife does on our family PC.

If I move to the Mac then she can torch the PC and my work is unaffected.

Will defenitely be interesting to see how logic develops over the next year or two. I myself am trying to learn SX 3 just in case something does happen. In the process of playing around and learning, I am finding it easy to get ideas out on. Not as easy as live, but similar. The FX suck though (compared to LP7). I dont like the whole idea of a single dynamic plug. I would rather have a list of comprressor, limiter, desser to choose from. <----- Just the way I am used to working.
