Default Wrong Sysex checksum!

hi...

I know that some users have experienced this error with "Wrong Sysex checksum" in Sounddiver, but I have actually once used that program without errors (believe it or not!). So I think it might be a setting in Sounddiver or the Virus, any suggestions?

When I am trying to do anything (Program changes, loading a sound, edit sound, etc.) in Sounddiver, then the Virus will keep showing the SE icon and it wount disappear until I do something drastic.

If I then send something again then it will show the "Wrong Sysex checksum" error and then after that the display will only show the bank and patchnumber, but no patchname!?

So it looks like the Sysex transmission is "hanging" like it never ends!?

anybody who manage to solve this problem without switching to like Cubase or so for patch upload??....

regards Kasper

What midi interface are you using? I don't actually use Sounddiver myself, but I've read a few people mention the midi interface causing trouble with SD.

I had the same problem. I used a usb interface that I've used without problems. I think it is a problem with the virus.

I was loading the mega soundset from the ampfea.org site. I used Sysex Librarian which is a great program for mac. I wouldn't use Sounddiver for Virus ever. Anyway, when I was loading the sound banks I would get the checksum error. But I also noticed the patches were being loaded anyway. So I had the errors but really no problems. I got the patch names and etc.

I suggest using MidiOx(PC) or Sysex Librarian(Mac).

hi again....

I am using the ESI M4U MIDIterminal, dont have problems with it, so I guess the problem aint the interface?

I would use the SD for editing and managing the Virus, so guess I have to use SD....

I am using MIDIox sometimes too for other purposes....

Any suggestions?

Kasper.
