Wobble Bass

Hi guys, first thread by me, new member etc... i have owned my ti for about 2 years so look forward to posting some threads etc

My question is how to make this type of wobble bass that gets used a lot in dubstep. I have managed to make a few sounds myself, including the upload example but i would like to know a bit more about how the sound works etc because that was made from a pre set. I think its to do with the LFO being assigned to the filter cut off, how can i create this with other preset sounds like bass???

Pretty much all it is is a synced LFO modulating the filter cutoff on a lowpass filter, sometimes a bit of pitch modulation too, but not too much.

As far as the actual waveforms and osc settings go that's totally up to your experimentation, play around with layering the spectral wave forms over your main saw/square/whatever wave to change up the tops on the sound and play around with different tuning on the oscillators.

cool man, cheers. Thats what i thought but i still dont know how to set it up so it works this way, what i would like to do if add this effect to some preset sounds i like.
do i need to assign the lfo to the filter cut off in the lfo section??

Yeah that's pretty much it, then just set the LFO to clock and twiddle the rate knob while it's playing haha.

You use 1 LFO on LowPass cutoff Filter, but you also need a subbass. Maybe OSC3 and set it to sin. Then you need the same LFO to control the voume of OSC3.
Cutoff doesn't have much effect on the Subbase so you need change the volume. If your patch already had enough bass you can still modulate the low eq in the effectsection.
Whob whob whob sound is caused by the cutoff filter, but you feel the woble because you modulate the volume of the bass

I use a pure square wave, or saw,
Add alot of sub osc,
Set filter 1 to BANDPASS and filter 2 to LP.
Then set LFO 2 (sine) to cutoff 1. Sometimes I only use filter 1, but I can also mix in filter 2 to cut back highs a little bit.
Lots of analog boost helps too.

The bandpass filter gives it a more interesting sound IMO.

You also have to mess with LFO depth and contour a bit to get it just right.
